Police Scanner Smackdown
The Police Scanner App shows a live feed of police in a certain area that are reacting to calls and information from dispatchers in their locations. Using this app could change peoples views on what police officers have to go through and the calls they get on a daily basis. many people do not know what sort of calls they get but they say that some do not handle some situations correctly, but that is only the ones being shown on television.
This app will be able to help some off duty as well that are told to keep everything on them just in case something happens and they would be capable of knowing where something was happening if they were near it. They would be able to react and see if any officers on duty need help while they are out because when you become a full time police officer you are on duty 24/7 but do not have to always react to calls.
This app is so cool! I never knew this was a thing, I might have to look into it.

ReplyDeleteI think this app could definitely help an off-duty cop in case there really is an emergency and they are actually really close to it. It would give people a better insight of a day in the life of a cop if that is what they are interested in becoming.

ReplyDeleteI know there is an app for fire calls but was not aware there was one for police. I can how this would be beneficial if you are off-duty and available to provide back up. I was once in a car accident and an off-duty cop, in another car, saw the entire accident and was there to help before the on-duty police and EMT's could arrived.

It also shows the kinds of cases police officers have to handle on a daily basis. It's cool how this app helps inform officers about what their co workers are doing and if they need help.

It also could be useful for civilians for not only understanding what officers must go through on a daily basis but also to be aware of upcoming accidents and other nearby potentially dangerous situations.

I definitely like the idea, especially when we can see the police working in action!

ReplyDeleteThat app seems like it would also be useful for when looking for a missing pet or child. My friend actually learned that one of his relatives was injured through a police scanner app that was running in the background where we were located at that time.
