Social Media Impact

The impact of social media across the world has had a huge impact on society as a whole. But, I would like to focus on social media used in policing, they have it on their chests and people all around them are using it. Social Media has shown to stay around forever even if you post something or share something and then delete it. You may think it is gone but it is always able to be found again if needed by authorities or governmental issues. My project is on Police in social media due to what has been happening around the world with the use of force and cases with social media and technology playing a big role in Police actions.

In the second chapter it was mainly brought to my attention that they were talking about connections and how they work together by sharing ideas with one another about certain things. In certain fields when people work together they can form a greater connection through their work or in other ways people can form connections by being in different fields and learning through one another about their certain field and gain a stronger connection in that sense. Police Scanner Smackdown

The Police Scanner App shows a live feed of police in a certain area that are reacting to calls and information from dispatchers in their locations. Using this app could change peoples views on what police officers have to go through and the calls they get on a daily basis. many people do not know what sort of calls they get but they say that some do not handle some situations correctly, but that is only the ones being shown on television.  This app will be able to help some off duty as well that are told to keep everything on them just in case something happens and they would be capable of knowing where something was happening if they were near it. They would be able to react and see if any officers on duty need help while they are out because when you become a full time police officer you are on duty 24/7 but do not have to always react to calls .
